Mike Sharpmack
Introduction
Mike is a new staff member at YD Adventures. He will be filling the position of the Operations Manager. He is coming to Idaho from South Carolina. He has been married to his wife, Sheila, since July of 2007 and he also has a dog named Bear. He has 3 years of experience in wilderness ministry and is excited to bring a fresh excitement to the team. Mike enjoys skiing, kayaking, rock climbing, backpacking, and fly-fishing.
Mike graduated from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2009. He received a Bachelors of Science in Biblical studies and Christian Education with an emphasis in Christian Camping. He has spent a few summers as a wilderness guide in northern Wisconsin. In addition, he completed a one year internship at the same camp where he learned about camping philosophies and operational logistics. He also wrote a one-hundred page paper where he created his dream camp and wilderness ministry, covering everything from the facilities to programs.
Previous to his year internship, he has also had his hand in youth ministry. He was a director for Youth for Christ and then became a Youth Pastor of a mega church in Omaha, NE. With all of his experience, he is excited to work at YD Adventures and make a difference in students' lives, hopefully initiating life change. He has been seeking God's direction in his life and it has been a journey. In the last two years he has called Omaha, Chicago, Northern WI and Columbia, South Carolina home. Soon he will be calling Idaho home. He can't wait to be used by God in amazing ways and use his life as a testimony to student.
