About YD Adventures Oregon

Mission

Believe it or not, we have been doing adventure-based youth ministry in Oregon for 30 years! We’ve had a few names in that time, but our heart and mission has always been the same: To invite and challenge youth to a lifelong journey in relationship with Christ and His church.

At YD Adventures, we believe that mission is best accomplished through adrenaline-rich adventures like whitewater rafting, rock climbing, backpacking, and other memorable activities that encourage and equip youth to live large for Jesus.

Background and History

YD Adventures Oregon began in 1981 as Quest Ministries, the wilderness adventure component of Creative Camping Ministries, Inc. (CCMI). At the end of the 1984 season, CCMI closed its doors and Quest was on its own. Within a year, Quest was adopted by Youth Dynamics, changing its name to Reachout Expeditions Oregon.

After operating in Oregon under that name for more than 20 years, a ministry-wide decision by Youth Dynamics changed the name “Reachout Expeditions” to “YD Adventures” in 2005. Since 1981, YD Adventures Oregon has ministered to well over 20,000 students.

Oregon Permit Information

Under Special Use Permit with the US Forest Service, Washington State Parks & Recreation, Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, and the US Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management.
