Curt Dunlop has committed most of his life to reaching youth for Jesus Christ through a highly effective adventure based approach to ministry. This is his passion. This is his call. Curt is the first to admit that in his own strength he can do nothing and that any good that has come or will come from his involvement is only because of God's grace and strength.
Having grown up in Oregon, Curt developed a deep love for the mountains and rivers of the Pacific Northwest and a passion for outdoor activities at a young age. Curt's love for adventure and the wilderness has led him to many years of backpacking, skiing, climbing, rafting, bicycling and world travel experiences. In 1974 God used Curt's love for the wilderness to help him understand the need for Christ in his life. He committed his life to Jesus Christ that year and began to tell others about what God had done in his life. Equipped with a strong passion to see young people come to Christ, Curt began ministering to youth in the outdoors whenever he had opportunity. In 1979 Curt married Kris and together with a few others in 1981 they began what is now YD Adventures - Oregon. That passion to see youth put their trust in Jesus Christ is as strong today as it has ever been, as is his vision for adventure based ministry. Curt and Kris Dunlop are blessed with a daughter, Kelly and a son, Cody.
Curt has been involved in outdoor ministry for over 30 years and has a Bachelors degree from the University of Oregon (1978) with an emphasis in Outdoor Education. He has extensive experience in adventure based program development and leadership. Curt is a well respected pioneer and leader of adventure based ministry in the Pacific Northwest.
