My Heart
I love the wilderness, working with staff, challenging students, and raising our four kids with my incredible wife Ursula! In the early years I spent most of my time in Bellingham,WA finishing school, working, climbing and enjoying the challenges of our local mountain rescue team. During that time I felt pressed to help youth define Gods purpose for their lives in a wilderness context. Hence, I spent 14 years as a guide and trainer with YD Reachout Expeditions. From there, I became team development facilitator for Scimitar Ridge’s portfolio companies and Director of the Scimitar Leadership Academy for university students. My focus was to challenge individuals and teams to discover, develop, and integrate key leadership principles, interpersonal skills, and behaviors that improve leadership performance. I had served as team consultant, designer and/or developer for profit and nonprofit organizations including many fortune 500 companies.
I continued to hold a strong passion in seeing youth challenged to grow in their faith and mature into Godly leaders, which led me back to Youth Dynamics. Directing Stonewater Ranch has truly been a blessing and a great launching point for Adventures, Leadership Development and Retreats for youth and adult alike. There are many youth that most would disregard yet have incredible potential to influence the world for Christ. I look forward to continuing to use this place as a catalyst for personal growth, restoration, spiritual formation and adventure. The same goes for my kids as we continue to home school, climb mountains, learn and play together, it’s a lifetime of equipping and sending!
