God called us to youth ministry in 1978. After a year internship program and working with the youth ministry in our church we took a position at Alpine Boys Ranch (ABR). While at ABR I developed and ran a horse program. It was awesome to see how God used horses to impact young men. When YD acquired ABR's property, it seemed like the perfect fit to resurrect the horse program. The facilities were here so we just needed to add horses and students. It is a new program for YD but it fits perfectly with our mission statement. I absolutely love seeing youth all over this place. Whether it is with the horses or one of our many adventure programs we offer, I know that the staff are speaking life into all of the students. This is God’s place and he does a mighty work here. I saw that before I joined the team and I wanted to be at a place where God was working. I am married to my lovely wife Sabrina and I have 3 adult sons, Joel, Jordan and Taylor who all currently live in Plain
