Stonewater Development

A Promising Future
The potential to reach even more students through Stonewater Ranch’s 138 acres is incredible. The future vision of Stonewater is to fulfill Youth Dynamics vision to see Northwest youth transformed by the power of Christ, integrated into the local church and impacting their world for Him. We utilize this unique property as a launch point for wilderness trips, a training ground for the Leadership Pursuit students, and a place for facilitated retreats.

As we develop the property, we will see the integration and impact increase as each phase is built. With the master plan recently approved by the county, we are underway to increase the bed space from a capacity of 75 to 126 guests in addition to the recent expansion of the camping facilities to accommodate 210 guests. Our focus is to see more smaller groups (12-24) of youth have an intimate and impactful time with each other and with God on this properly.

Completed Projects We are excited to announce that the Stonewater shop and Adventure center are now complete and functional. We are specifically thankful for Alan Skay and Jim Foss for their work as well as the many volunteers that helped! We also added a large scale septic system to the Chalet for large groups and future development. We have added a couple more campgrounds and re-graded our front entry. Thanks to the county for their road work on Chiwawa Loop Rd.

Next Step
We first need to add a septic system to the lower property so we can add the bath house and usable galley to the adventure center. This will include 7 RV sites for guest, speakers, and volunteers to be temporarily housed. Once that is in place our plan is to remodel the Gym which we will call the “Renberg Recreation Center” named after the founder of ABR, Bob Renberg. These projects will run approximately $230,000.00 and will put a close on our first phase of development.

The second phase will include three new cabins for 48 additional beds, the remodel of our Chalet and our intern house. This phase will be a major push, but look forward to seeing it come to fruition! Total for Phase Two: $1,500,000

New Guest cabins will sleep 16 and have a kitchenette and downstairs gathering area to accommodate a small group. These cabins will be strategically situated on the property for individual group retreats or combined for larger events. This development will create enough space to dramatically impact the needs of this generation.

Intern Housing A 3000 square foot “intern house” for leadership development will be built across the street. This house will accommodate 24 students with separate sleeping, eating and baths. It will also have a common area which includes kitchen and laundry facility. The intern house is expected to cost approximately $150-175,000.

The Chalet Expansion is what we have been waiting for. This building is quite outdated and needs some work, with a new entrance, more meeting space and a Commercial Kitchen. We have to go deep into the remodel for the addition of fire protection, ADA and new wiring just to mention a few changes. In the end, some ceiling height will be added, more bed space, bathrooms and an updated look and feel.

Phase 3 - Our plan is to increase ministry impact by adding adventure elements on site including, climbing wall, hiking and biking trails, more challenge course elements, and by increasing the number of campsites from four to six. Increasing campsite capacity and field kitchens provides opportunity for multiple groups to be camping simultaneously or accommodate a smaller number of larger camping events. Phase 3 will also include four new cabins which will finish the cabin expansion. The capstone to our development plan is “The Stonewater Lodge” as a gathering place for groups to dine and meet. The lodge will accommodate 250 people in dining or theater type seating. It will have breakout rooms, commercial kitchen, AV, restrooms and incredible views. Utilizing the back pastures, Horse Arena and Stonewater Lodge we will have the capacity to host several large events or one large day event of 1500 people.

Would you consider being a part of impacting students’ lives through the expansion of Stonewater Ranch by becoming a ministry partner?
