About Javier
I grew up in the East Bay Area, California in a Catholic household being baptized as a baby. Then when I was in high school at the age of fifteen, I went through Confirmation. Time passed and I didn’t think about God when I was 16 in high school while I was attending a public school. My focus was on grades, sports, girls, and drugs. I ended up getting a scholarship to a Maritime State University in California where I played rugby, partied too much, and continued pursuing girls and drugs. I ended up losing my scholarship in the first year as I couldn’t focus on my grades, which sent me into deep sadness and feeling hopeless.
I then attended a community college in which God used two people to reach out to me on campus to invite me to bible studies in the cafeteria of the school. I went to about 10 different bible studies where I learned more about God and that I could have a personal relationship with Jesus. I can say that I truly encountered Jesus (God) for the first time when I went to those bible studies at Chabot community college. I got baptized that same year in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit when I was twenty years old in 2017 and changed my focus in life. Jesus helped me stop taking drugs and slowly gave me the desire to stop pursuing girls immorally. I love Jesus Christ because he saved me from a life of destruction and vain pursuits and gave me a life of joy, hope, and purpose.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chaplaincy from an online Christian college and discovered Youth Dynamics online. Sean Sallis, area director, introduced me to the vision of Youth Dynamics and I instantly loved it! More youth than ever have not heard the good news of Jesus Christ, and it excites me to have an opportunity to invite and challenge youth to a lifelong adventure with Christ and his church!
