Maintenance Manager

About Josh

Did I hear that right….. I get to bale hay, drive a bulldozer, ride horses, work with fellow believers, and help share the Good Word of Jesus to the next generation? Heck yeah, sign me up! After spending 20 years running our family owned haying and horse training business, my wife and I were looking for a way to start our own Christian Horse ministry when out of the blue a total stranger contacted us about training mustangs for a Christian horse program known as Youth Dynamics in Stonewater. My wife, three daughters, and I spent our first three years with YD as volunteers training young mustangs for the Stonewater horse program. In 2024, the Maintenance Manager Position suddenly came open and needed to be filled. After much family prayer and discussion with YD leadership, we decided to pack up the farm and move to Stonewater!
My passion is farming and working outdoors while leading young people to develop a strong biblical work ethic. God instituted work with creation, prior to the Fall. Genesis 2:15 says, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” After Adam and Eve sinned, work became toil (Genesis 3:17-19), but work itself is included in the “very good” part of creation (Genesis 1:3). We work hard and cheerfully to be a witness to others (Mathew 5:16). The world takes notice of our efforts and wonders why we do what we do. However, we do not work merely to amass worldly wealth, we work to bring glory to God. Just as importantly, I REALLY love Sundays! He granted us a day off just to relax and worship Him….so awesome! 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
